Starting point is the parking lot of the valley station gondola "Rote 8er" in Moadörfl/Wagrain. Between Wilderer Alm and the valley station the tour starts directly at the information board for ski tourers. From here, the ascent takes place along the left edge of the piste in the direction of the "Rote 8er" middle station, crossing the piste at the Franzl Alm. After the flat section, the trail climbs moderately steeply, on the right edge of the piste for about 650 meters in altitude to the top station "Rote 8er". After crossing the piste, the route follows the ski track slightly uphill to the Kogelalm. The descent is along the piste "Abfahrt Rote 8er".

Please note the piste closure from 18 to 8.30 in the ski area!
