ROUTE:
From the hamlet of Niblogo, in Madonna dei Monti, follow the S529 driveway to Val Zebru'. At the Peceneccia bridge, take the road to the left and enter the Val Zebru' proper, skirting the stream for a short distance. The route is easy and is characterized initially by dense woods, interrupted by deep valleys and then by green terraces with characteristic huts. The place is frequented by ungulates and the majestic lammergeyer, recently reintroduced to the Stelvio National Park. Reaching the Campo huts, at an elevation of 1948 m, climb right along a steep winding trail to the turnoff to the Costantini bivouac and then continue on the mostly flat S526 trail to the Cavallaro huts. From here you descend along a steep, winding S527 path back to the driveway near Ristoro Zebru' and can then return to the hamlet of Niblogo.
