Cantina Kurtatsch is one of South Tyrol’s historic cooperative wineries, deeply rooted in the winemaking tradition of the southern part of the region. Founded in 1900 by local winegrowers, the winery today brings together numerous family-run vineyards located between 220 and 900 metres above sea level, giving Kurtatsch one of the widest altitude ranges in South Tyrol.
The winery’s distinctive character comes from the remarkable diversity of its vineyard sites and microclimates. Each grape variety is cultivated at the altitude best suited to its needs, allowing the wines to express the unique personality of the terroir. Cantina Kurtatsch is especially renowned for elegant and mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, and Lagrein, as well as premium single-vineyard wines such as “Brenntal” and “Freienfeld”.
Alongside its strong respect for tradition, the winery places great emphasis on sustainability, careful vineyard work, and artisanal winemaking. The modern cellar building blends harmoniously into the historic village centre and reflects the balance between innovation and South Tyrolean wine culture.
Cantina Kurtatsch offers guided tastings, winery tours, and vineyard experiences, allowing visitors to explore the wine world of Kurtatsch firsthand.
Wines can be purchased directly at the winery shop or through the online store.
