What exactly is that?
In my courses, I have been combining yoga and anatomically functional movement coordination for a long time in order to develop more body awareness in movement. I have now extended this from the posture to the movement sequence "walking" with Yoga Walk. The forest provides a wonderful backdrop for this and invites you to reconnect not only with yourself, but also with nature.
What is the goal?
My intention is to pass on my own body awareness, which I have developed while walking through awareness of movement. My gait now feels so light and lively that I have almost developed the same enjoyment of walking that I have when inline skating or skiing.
With Yoga-Walk, I want to appeal to your body's own intelligence in order to awaken archaic movement sequences when walking and thus develop a more economical, anatomically sensible gait. Dynamics and rhythm as well as alignment with gravity enable you to walk more efficiently.
How does a yoga walk course work?
We start in the forest on a 3.5 km circuit. Alternating between yoga exercises and walking, we go through an exercise program designed to make us aware of our gait pattern.
Targeted yoga exercises for each body area we focus on gradually make the gait "rounder". For example, the tree exercise makes us aware of the feeling of being "grounded". We take this feeling with us into the next walking phase and sense how it feels to be supported while walking.
As in traditional yoga classes, breathing is of course not neglected. In the fresh air, your entire breathing potential is utilized and repeatedly brought to mind with breathing exercises
A small meditation in a quiet spot in the forest will also round off the class if the weather is nice.
I will guide you through all of this in detail and will also explain it in more detail at one point or another if necessary. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to take them on board.
What does this do for me?
In any case, lots of exercise and fresh air. And the list of positive effects that this alone can have is long.
