Where the Carnica bee flies out for the golden honey and the hobby beekeeper tells exciting stories about forest honey.

When Herbert Zwischenbrugger takes a wooden frame filled with honeycombs out of the hive with extreme care, his heart is completely with his bees. His every move is calm and precise, and the bees remain calm because they know their beekeeper by smell.

What there is to know about the autochthonous Carinthian bee species "Apis Carnica", its importance for nature and the honey it produces, is told and shown by the beekeeper with passion at the bee nature trail in Dellach. Close to the river Gail, the hobby beekeeper has built a small town of red, yellow and blue little houses, in which more than 40 bee colonies with a total of about 20 million little bees live. During the Slow Food honey experience, Herbert is happy to demonstrate the creation of forest honey, propolis and the beeswax. It's a fascinating world where the busy, furry flyers produce the sweet gold. Afterwards, the sweet result can also be tasted.
