Insights into the eternal ice
Only 200 m away from the highest point on the Hintertux glacier, the icy journey begins. From the viewing plateau at the Gefrorenen Wand (3,250 m) with one of the most beautiful panoramic views over the Zillertal mountains, a safe path leads to the gates of the palace.
After a thorough check of the equipment (helmet, harness with 2 safety slings), the path runs by handrail through the entire, without the intervention of human hands, engen. The entrance hall, shrouded in mystical glacier blue, is the first stop on the tour. The variety of the turquoise-blue play of colors offers a diving experience for the eye alone, as only shades of blue are reflected by the ice.
