For more than 30 years, our senior chef has been baking the Lesachtal bread, which is famous far beyond the borders of the valley, in our hotel. In the meantime, this art of bread baking has become a Unesco World Heritage Site, as bread is baked from fine natural sourdough bread, local flour and water according to age-old recipes. No one can do this better than Rosa Lanner, who also teaches the amateur bread bakers how to knead properly. The master bread baker from the Lesach Valley is also happy to pass on the preparation of sourdough, the combination of the right spices and all kinds of interesting facts about the history of bread baking. The up-and-coming bakers are then allowed to take home their homemade bread, complete with recipe and bread flour.
