The local bus runs hourly and takes you to St. Valentin in 5 minutes; from the bus stop, it’s another 5-minute walk to the gondola.\n\nPANORAMA HÖHENWEG\n\n320 meters of elevation gain | 11 kilometers | 3–4 hours\n\nFrom the mountain station in St. Valentin, the trail leads toward Resch; then, following trail marker 14, it continues above the tree line to the Schöneben mountain station, where construction work on the new winter gondola is currently underway. From there, the trail leads back to the Haideralm (where you can stop for a bite to eat). You then take the gondola down to St. Valentin and walk back to the bus stop in 5 minutes to continue your journey by bus to Graun.\n\nMy tip: Allow at least 45 minutes from the alpine pasture to the bus stop in the valley.\n\nALTERNATIVE ROUTE – Zehnerkopf Summit\n\nFor those who want to go higher: The summit hike to the Zehnerkopf (2,675 m) branches off to the right shortly after Schöneben, following trail marker 9B. From the summit, you’ll enjoy a unique panoramic view of all the lakes, stretching all the way to Switzerland and the Ortler Group.
