Classical music at Immenstadt Castle - piano recital with Johannes Gaechter

Piano recital - works by Medtner, Ravel and Liszt

The renowned pianist Johannes Gaechter returns to Immenstadt in spring 2025 to present a captivating evening full of classical-romantic piano works on the grand piano in the castle.

In the first half, he will take the audience into the lyrical and poetic world of Nicolai Medtner, a contemporary of Sergei Rachmaninov, from whom Gaechter will play three interrelated sonatas - a "sonata triad".

In the second half of the concert, the audience can expect music by Maurice Ravel, who will be celebrating his 150th birthday in 2025. The audience can look forward to Ravel's well-known works "Pavane", "Jeux d'eau" and "Ondine". The concert will conclude with Franz Liszt's famous and virtuoso "Mephisto Waltz".

Johannes Gaechter discovered his love of playing the piano at the tender age of four. He has always been fascinated by complex and demanding pieces - he is particularly fond of Russian late Romanticism in his current artistic phase. For the passionate pianist, music is the purest and most beautiful way of expressing feelings and moods. He wants to share this passion and dedication with his audience.

Gaechter can look back on an impressive musical career and an active concert career at the highest level, both of which he continues to develop. Multiple successful participations in international piano competitions in Paris, St. Petersburg and Warsaw are just some of the highlights of his musical career. In addition to numerous concerts in Germany, he has already captivated audiences in Strasbourg, Paris, the Czech Republic, Shanghai and Cape Town.
