The hike starts at the Sonneggbrücke parking lot in Großarl—to warm up, you’ll walk a short distance along the road toward Unterwandalm, then take a steep hiking trail up to the first alpine hut (currently still closed). From there, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the mountains. Afterward, the route continues at a leisurely pace to the Karseggalm (currently still closed), one of the oldest huts in the Valley of the Alms. The route continues along a forest trail down to the Breitenebenalm. Located at 1,420 m above sea level, it offers a beautiful view of the summit cross on the Schuhflicker. This hut is open and treats you to one of the best Kaiserschmarrn in our region. Via a fantastic trail, the route then leads back down to the starting point—the Sonnegg Bridge.
