Snowshoe Tour at Unterm Gamsfuß

Every Sunday from December 20, 2026, through April 4, 2027
The trail winds southward along the stream through the beautiful Bärgunttal valley. After the Bärgunthütte, the trail becomes more secluded and steeper.
We make our way up across open areas with great views and forested sections to the Köpfle. From here, we have a unique view of the mighty Widderstein—the highest mountain in the Kleinwalsertal. With a little luck, we might spot ibex, chamois, or other local wildlife. After a snack break and some photo opportunities, we’ll begin the descent back down the valley along a similar route. We’ll have the opportunity to stop at the Bärgunthütte and wind down after this eventful tour.
Meeting point: 9:30 a.m. at the Baad bus stop
Duration: approx. 5 hours – estimated return around 2:30 p.m.
Price: €80, including snowshoes and poles; avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe—if necessary
Fitness level: Sure-footedness and the stamina for ascents of up to 700 hm and walking times of up to 6 hours;
Equipment: Sturdy, ankle-high boots (mountaineering boots) or hiking boots, winter clothing, and a backpack with some provisions. Snowshoes, poles, and an avalanche transceiver are provided.
Minimum participants: 4 people
