From St. Martin to Silandro

Together with Sonja we start in the direction of the village exit, where we then take the cable car up to St. Martin. After the train ride from Latsch to St. Martin im Kofel, we first walk a short distance on an asphalted road, later on well-maintained hiking trails to Gasthof Egg and the lonely mountain farms in Forra. Here we enjoy the magnificent view of the Etschtal valley and the glacier world of the Ortler massif. From there, narrow paths wind their way past partly dilapidated farmsteads to the Tappeiner Hof. This is one of the most beautiful in the area. We then descend to Schlandersberg Castle, which was built in the 13th century. Via a path we finally walk to Schlanders. There we take the train to return to Latsch.
