The high alpine landscape around Obergurgl hides amazing archaeological treasures. On this hike, we discover traces of the first humans who made their way into the high mountains after the glaciers retreated around 10,000 years ago. The circular trail leads to the Beilstein site, a former resting place for Stone Age hunters and today one of the best-studied high alpine sites in the Alps.
Trilingual copper stelae provide exciting insights into the history of this early period. A fascinating journey into the past of the Ötztal Alps.
