Manfred's Homemade Bread

Every Sunday, we still bake our own bread here. Our host, Thomas, prepares his homemade bread for his guests, which he bakes using his sourdough starter “Manfred.” Manfred is about 17 years old and originated at Villa Lena in Tuscany. After a few detours—including a stop at the Château de Raymontpierre in Switzerland—he finally found his way to Thomas.
