Alpendorf 11, Sankt Johann im Pongau
The tour starts at the Sonneggbrücke parking lot in Grossarl
- to warm up, you
walk along the
road towards the Unterwandalm, along a steep
hiking trail up to the first mountain hut
(currently still closed). From there you can enjoy
a magnificent view of the mountains. Then
it's a leisurely walk over to the Karseggalm (currently
still closed), one of the oldest huts in the valley of the
alpine pastures. Continue along a forest path down
to the Breitenebenalm. This is located at 1,420 m above sea level
with a wonderful view of the summit cross of the
Schuhflicker. This hut is open and will spoil you
with one of the best Kaiserschmarrn in our
area. A great trail then takes you back
down to the starting point - the Sonneggbrücke bridge.
