100 years of the Salzburg Festival

The Salzburg Museum will be celebrating 100 years of the Salzburg Festival with its own national exhibition until 31 October 2021. The museum will become a stage on which the history of the Salzburg Festival will be vividly told. With this concept, the exhibition follows the conviction of festival founder Max Reinhardt that a play can ultimately only be fulfilled in an exchange with its audience. With this in mind, you are invited to stay at the founding site of the Salzburg Festival, Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron, and learn even more about its history at the Salzburg Museum. Creative workshops and guided tours await under the motto "Curtain up!", interactive stations offer the opportunity to individually explore the exhibition in the Salzburg Museum.

Without pre-registration, the highlight tours take place at 14:00 and also on Sundays at 10:00. Additionally, there is a guided tour in English on Saturdays at 10:00 am.
