Details

As part of European Mobility Week 2026, experience a unique blend of city history, nature, and cultural discoveries around Innsbruck.

On Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., you’ll start at the Innsbruck Tourist Information Office and begin by discovering fascinating stories about Innsbruck and the region together with a city guide. From Bergisel, you’ll take the Waldbahn to Tummelplatz, where you’ll explore Ambras Castle, the historic Tummelplatz Forest Cemetery, and later, in Tantegert, the impressive Celtic tree circle. Afterward, the Waldbahn will take you on to Igls, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely coffee break (at your own expense) and learn more about the region’s history and unique features before taking the J bus back.

The tour is free for all participants, and tickets for the Waldbahn and Bus J are also provided free of charge. Please bring comfortable shoes and a water bottle; the hike is easy, lasts about 4 hours in total, and is ideal for anyone who wants to combine culture and nature in a relaxed way. If the tour cannot take place due to insufficient participation, bad weather, or other unforeseeable circumstances, it may be canceled by the organizer at short notice.
