Neuhofen 183, Bad Mitterndorf
We head up to the highest lake plateau in Central Europe.
We take our 8-seater bus up to the Tauplitzalm (1650 m) on a well-maintained, asphalted serpentine road.
We start our hike on a steep ascent, which, however, continues as a pleasant, flat and wide path all the way to the summit.
On reaching the summit, an incredibly impressive 360-degree panoramic view awaits us and the descent leads partly along a forest road, as well as through mountain pine fields, down to the "Hollhaus" mountain restaurant, where we can stop for refreshments at the end of our tour. From there, the spectacular Dachstein glacier lies directly in front of us in a dreamlike glitter.
