About D'Hochgratler
The mountain costume association d'Hochgratler was founded in 1921 and is an important part of club life in Oberstaufen. The non-profit association contributes to the preservation of local folklore and customs through its active work (e.g. folklore evenings).
In addition to platteln, making music and playing farmer's theater, socializing is not neglected. Many hikes, bike tours with the whole Plattler family, St. Nicholas celebrations, excursions, church visits such as Corpus Christi, Thanksgiving, etc. are on the annual program. The association also organizes public carnival celebrations and a summer festival called the "Boschefescht" every year.
The association has 295 members, around 60 of whom are active. The club's chairman is Florian Haser. The Plattler group is led by Martin Appelt and Sabine Hauber. Through weekly Plattler rehearsals, the three show us that Plattler, music and Juchzgen are part of life!
