Helpful facts

Accompany historian Andrea Bigge on a walk along the fascinating paths that Caspar David Friedrich once roamed.

From the central reception, you will walk along the Elbe to Villa Waldfrieden. You will always have the impressive panorama of the Schrammsteine and the sandstone quarries, which Caspar David Friedrich immortalized in so many sketches and drawings, before your eyes. Afterwards, you can enjoy a snack from our mill bakery in the idyllic setting of the Ilm spring, while our historian Andrea Bigge reveals one or two secrets from Friedrich's eventful past.

Meeting point: central reception - Schmilka No. 23 in Haus Grenzeck

Should the weather not be conducive to a walk, a sketching course with Andrea Bigge awaits you instead, offering you the opportunity to express yourself creatively and capture the inspiring atmosphere of Caspar David Friedrich's world.
