Long via ferrata (1700m climbing meters) at the Höchkönig in airy heights. Due to its altitude (2380 - 2880m), the via ferrata is not to be underestimated in terms of weather.

Parking lot:
Erichhütte parking lot
Route description:
Access: parking lot Erichhütte- forest road to Erichhütte- trail 432 to Hochscharte.
Via ferrata: directly along the ridge up to Hoher Kopf
Descent:
First ascent to the Matrashaus on the Hochkönig (2941m).
Then in an easterly direction the long descent over the plateau, the Ochsenkar to the Mitterfeldalm and on to the Arthurhaus at 1500m, where you can either take a bus that leaves every 1-2 hours in the direction of Saalfelden to the starting point. Or you go (if the condition is enough) still on the relatively flat Almweg under the Hochkönig via the Widdersbergalm back to the starting point (total 25km).
