An interesting mountain hike with great views of the surrounding mountain panorama.
The Leistenein is one of the lower peaks, but its steep summit makes it at least as impressive as a taller peak. Most of the trail leads through a beautiful stretch of forest, past cow pastures, until it reaches a short, steep ascent.
The spectacular view from the summit in all directions is magnificent. The descent follows forest roads rather than mountain trails. At the end of the hike, you can admire the stunning backdrop of the Grimming from the Dachsteinlick inn.
