Mountain tour Junssee & Geier with Mario

❗️❗️ACHTUNG: Very challenging tour, only for experienced hikers due to the difficulty and fitness level!

The hiking cab first takes us up to the Stoankasern Alpine dairy (1984 m). From here, there is initially a wide road, which later turns into an easily accessible meadow path in the direction of the Toten Böden (2490 m).

The ascent is continuous for around 1 hour. Once at the tote Böden, the path forks - on the one hand up towards Junssee, on the other towards Geschützspitzsattel, which represents the high alpine transition towards Hintertux. We first take the path towards Junsee (2833 m), which we reach after a good 45 more minutes (and just under 2.5 hours walking time in total).

The path becomes steeper and rockier again here, with a few more complicated sections. Once you reach Lake Junssee, the beautiful, almost bizarre landscape invites you to take a break. Tip: for beautiful photos, it's best to walk a little further uphill - then the lake seems bluer (approx. 20 min walk).

Now it's back down the same way towards Stoankasern past the Toten Böden. These are so acidic that only a few mosses and lichens grow. A wonderful day tour for experienced mountaineers.

Equipment: sturdy, ankle-high hiking boots, a change of T-shirt, water bottles, sun protection, snack, rain/wind jacket, cash for refreshments.

- Travel costs will be charged on a pro rata basis. There are 8 seats available for the trip on our hotel bus. If the bus is already full, we ask you to join us in your own car.
