This “Playful Hiking Trail” has a lot to offer: water, a stream, fields of cotton grass, forest, mosses, blueberries, hidden wooden animals—and, you’ll be happy to know, it’s also easy for younger children to manage. The first section of the trail runs alongside a natural stream where there’s an incredible amount to discover. And best of all: playing in the stream bed is encouraged here. The forest, where hand-carved animal figures are hidden, has a very mystical, dense atmosphere and remains very green well into midsummer because the soil here is very rich in water. At times, you’ll walk along wooden planks through moss, grass, and knee-high blackberry bushes. On hot summer days, the forest is pleasantly cool; in the fall, it glows with all the colors of the season—the Animal Carvers’ Trail is always the right choice.
