Details

The karst basin in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, criss-crossed by cirques, can be hiked from the Pederü mountain inn. The Fanes plateau is roughly surrounded by the mountains of the Fanes group of the Dolomites. These include, to the north, the Neuner (2968 m, Sas dles Nü) and the Antonispitze (2655 m, Piz de Sant'Antone), to the northwest the Zehner (3026 m, Sas dles Diesc) and the Heiligkreuzkofel (2907 m, Sas dla Crusc), to the southwest the Piz Lavarela (3055 m) and the Piz Cunturines (3064 m, Piz dles Cunturines), to the south the Southern (2980 m), the Northern (2969 m) and the Middle Faniss Peak (2889 m) with the Cima Scotoni (2874 m), to the southeast the Monte Cavallo (2911 m), the Monte Casale (2898 m) and the Monte Castello (2817 m), and to the east the Col Bechei (2794 m). The Fanes is the setting for numerous South Tyrolean legends that revolve around the realm of the Fanes. Such as "The Enneberg-Lampezzo border dispute". The beer produced at 2050 metres above sea level in Europe's highest brewery is a special treat: the Ga.Beer at the Lavarella refuge, brewed with the crystal-clear mountain water of the Dolomites according to the German Purity Law.
