The Chiemgau Alps between Munich and Salzburg have always been a popular MTB area. And since recently, the first signposted mountain bike region in the Bavarian Alps has been there: MTB fans will find a mountain bike network with over 750 kilometres on around 1,200 square kilometres. 71 tours, including Bike & Hike and Bike & Swim tours, lead to alpine pastures and summits. Many tours are suitable for E-MTB or gravel bike.
The designated routes run mainly on forest paths. Along the way there are magnificent views of the Alpine foothills or the glaciers of the main Alpine ridge. A large part of the signposted tours runs on hiking trails and is used "mitnand" by all mountain sports enthusiasts - with mutual respect.
Bike & Hike, Bike & Swim Not all tours lead directly to the summit. And narrow mountain paths are a pleasure on foot and preserve nature. That's why some tours are designed as Bike & Hike. Even more enjoyment is promised by tours that lead past small alpine lakes - and invite you to take a refreshing dip.
