Lake Piburger See is the landmark and natural jewel of Oetz. Originally, the depression of the lake was an old valley furrow parallel to the Ötztal. The lake is a popular excursion destination thanks to its scenic location. Nestled in the hollow above Oetz, the clear green water reflects the surrounding forests and the mighty towering Acherkogel. On the hiking trails around Lake Piburger See, you can experience natural highlights such as the Wellerbrücke bridge, the Achstürze falls on the Ötztaler Ache river or Lake Habicher See.The lake circuit is a highlight for the whole family: while the narrow, partly rooty and rocky path on the eastern shore fuels the spirit of adventure, the somewhat wider path on the western shore is even pram-friendly.
