Stilfserjoch

Via Milano, 50, Bormio
From the Stelvio Pass, take the sent. S506 that leads to the Platigliole Pass and the summit of the Scorluzzo (3095m). From the summit, descend the southwest ridge along a track where Austrian defenses during World War I are clearly visible. Past the last outpost, you enter "No Man's Land" until you meet the first Italian redoubt. Continue along the ridge to a cairn of boulders. From here, among stone walkways and trenches, you overlook the Vitelli Valley. After a short descent, you reach an Alpine troops' fort and, among the remains of barracks, take the main trail to Malga Scorluzzo and then continue along the sent. S505 to the III Cantoniera.
