Snowshoe Hike to the Schwarzwasserhütte

The Schwarzwasser Valley, nestled between the Walmendinger Horn and the Hoher Ifen, is a wild and romantic nature reserve. Our snowshoe tour begins at the Auenhütte. From there, the trail leads along the Schwarzwasserbach stream. As we ascend and descend, we traverse beautiful, fairy-tale-like winter landscapes with frozen waterfalls and deep, snow-covered gorges. Even when it’s snowing, this tour is a delightful experience.
Duration: approx. 5 hours
Meeting point: 9:35 a.m., Ifenbahn valley station—in front of the Snowcompany Shop
Price: €80.00, including snowshoes and poles; avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe—if necessary
Minimum participants: 4 people;
Prerequisites: Sure-footedness and the physical fitness to handle ascents of between 500 and 700 hm and walking times of up to 6 hours.
Equipment: Sturdy, ankle-high boots (mountaineering boots) or hiking boots, winter clothing, and a backpack with some provisions. Snowshoes, poles, and an avalanche transceiver are provided.
