The Wimmertal

Comfortable hike to Klammer's Jausenhütte and the Wimmertalalm. A hike for the whole family in an unspoiled mountain landscape.

Hiking trail no. 6 starts opposite the Hotel Kröller (1,204 m) in Gerlos-Gmünd and leads into the Wimmertal valley with its lush green alpine meadows and the rushing Wimmerbach stream along the way. After a short, somewhat steeper ascent, you pass "Klammer's Jausenhütte" (1,365 m) and finally, after about half an hour's walk, you reach the Jausenstation Wimmertalalm (1,375 m).

Well fortified, even less experienced hikers can easily tackle another 300 meters of altitude to the end of the valley.

Tip: Ascent to the Wimmerscharte (2,500 m) possible for experienced mountaineers.
