ROUTE:
From the Hotel Ghiacciaio dei Forni hike upstream along the sent. S528 and S555 through a pure stone pine forest considered among the most interesting in the Stelvio Park. Above the Baite dei Forni the trail becomes flat and heads west on a service track that leads to the Pradaccio di Sopra huts. Entering the Manzina Valley, take the S575 trail to the right that leads toward Monte Forni. At an elevation of 2500, on the side of the Sasso Prealda cliff, the trail zigzags up a steep grassy slope. It climbs a partially grassy moraine seam and, between rocks and scree, reaches Lago della Manzina. From here there is a magnificent view of much of the Forni basin, whose peaks are reflected in the calm waters of the lake.
