Dorf 166, Alpbach
A few hundred meters above the small church in Inneralpbach stands the "Vorder-Unterberg" farm on the edge of the forest. The farm was built between 1636 and 1638 by local carpenters and was inhabited until 1952.
The animals at the back of the barn don't care that no one lives here anymore. There are plenty of people passing by - mainly humans, sometimes even a fox - to the horror of the chickens that live here. After all, I'm there too and visit the cows, the "museum chickens" and the lively pigs on the farm.
Around 800 furnishings and everyday objects are on display and show you the life of the Alpbachtal's "old ancestors".
