Helpful facts

A hike through the Stuiben waterfalls is truly unique. Upstream, the trail leads you from the starting point through rugged rock faces over a bridge, from which you can already marvel at the first small waterfalls. This is the start of the Hermannsteig trail, which runs along the Stuiben Falls into the valley. On a secured path you reach open terrain and a forest path to the Great Stuiben Falls. The path continues in serpentines up to the Kanzel and the second, somewhat smaller waterfall. At the upper end of the Stuiben Falls, you will reach the Kleiner Plansee lake. There you cross the water over a bridge and walk along the "Ministersteig" back to the starting point. Along the Ministersteig you will find benches from which you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Stuibenfälle and the Reutten valley basin. The route is about 5.5 km and takes about 2 hours. From Schwangau follow the B17 in the direction of Füssen and turn left before the Lech bridge in the direction of Reutte.Follow the state road and continue on the Fernpassstraße/B179 until you reach the "Reutte Nord" junction in Tyrol. Continue in the direction of Reutte/Hauptbahnhof and there to Mühl/Breitenwang. You will find the car park somewhat secluded by the substations of the Reutte electricity works behind the production halls of the Plansee metal works at E-Werkstraße 6, 6600 Breitenwang/Austria. You should allow approx. 35 minutes for the drive to the starting point.
