Details

Weingut Kornell is a historic family-owned winery located in Siebeneich near Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. The estate boasts more than 700 years of winemaking history, while viticulture in the area dates back to Roman and Rhaetian times. Since 1927, the winery has been owned by the Brigl family and is now managed by Florian Brigl, who combines tradition, sustainability, and a modern vision of winemaking.

One of Kornell’s distinctive features is its unique location among steep porphyry slopes and sun-exposed vineyards in the Adige Valley. The strong temperature differences between warm days and cool nights give the wines elegance, minerality, and Mediterranean character. The winery is especially renowned for its Lagrein, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as premium labels such as “Staffes”, “Oberberg”, and “Kressfeld”. The historic manor house and nearby Greifenstein Castle further enhance the estate’s unique identity.

The winery offers guided tastings, cellar tours, and vineyard experiences, including private tours for groups upon request. Visitors can purchase wines directly at the estate shop or conveniently order them through the online shop.
