At the Altböckstein Mining Museum, a designated historic landmark, the history and technology of gold mining have been brought back to life.
The special exhibition “Miners, Gold & Resistance,” as well as old gold ore processing facilities, artifacts found in the tunnels, and models of old gold mining equipment provide insight into the significant history of gold and silver mining in Gastein, marked by wealth and grueling labor.
