Our hike begins in Vellau, above Algund. Together with Günther, we hike along beautiful forest trails, passing the Gasthof Kienegg and the Oberplatzer on our way up to the Leiteralm. Along the way, we enjoy magnificent views of the Merano basin and the surrounding mountains. The Leiteralm is a great spot for a cozy break. Afterward, we’ll hike back to Vellau along the same route.
Hiking time: approx. 4 hours (round trip)
Elevation gain: approx. 500 meters
Difficulty: moderate
Transportation: By hotel bus, maximum 8 people, €4.00 per person. Please place the payment directly in the small bus next to the registration desk. Additional participants should carpool.
