Not only historic, magnificent baroque buildings characterize Innsbruck's cityscape - in the meantime, the countless modern buildings have also become absolute eye-catchers.

Zaha Hadid, the British-Iraqi designer, has wowed with the Hungerburgbahn stations and the Bergisel ski jump. Thanks to David Chipperfield, the British master of understatement, the Kaufhaus Tyrol shines in a new splendor. The town hall galleries also fascinate at first sight - and not only because the breathtaking mountains are reflected in the glass facade.
