Via the Leitensteig path to the medieval alpine village Fanealm (OD13)

200 metres above the hotel on the left side, follow the signs "Leitensteig/Vals" on 10 and 11. The rustic trail runs through the forest to Vals to the valley station of the Jochtal cable car. From there you hike comfortably into the valley to the Kurzkofel hut. There you will find the entrance to the Milchweg 17, which leads you to the alpine village of the Fanealm, which was first mentioned in the 16th century. For the way back, take the same path back to the valley station of the cable car, where you can take the free bus to Mühlbach with your Brixen Südtirol Guest Pass. The buses run every hour. Once in Mühlbach, take the bus back to Meransen.
