Hike - Gipslöcher - Kriegeralpe

Reg. Deadline

1 day before the experience at 19:00

Host
Goldener Berg

Oberlech 117, Oberlech am Arlberg

Details

We start directly in front of the hotel. From here we hike to the bus stop at the Hotel Mohnenfluh in Oberlech. This is also where the Lech-Kriegeralp trail begins. Passing the Muxelhof and Schottenhof we reach the Skyspace-Lech. This work of art, designed by James Turrell and opened in 2018, grants entirely new dimensions through its special architecture - the open dome narrows the space and the field of vision of the sky in such a way that a completely new sense of space, time and thus consciousness is created. We linger here for a while and enjoy this spectacular work of art in the midst of the mountains of Lech Zürs with a view in the direction of Biberkopf. Afterwards, we continue leisurely uphill past the Grubenalpe. In the later course we can still visit the gypsum holes, before it goes past the Petersboden mountain station and the ski hut "The Wolf" further up to the Kriegeralpe. From there, the, from the Horizon Field installation of the artist Antony Gormley sculpture No.3 vis à vis the Kriegeralpe can be admired.
