Ellen - Alpe di Rodengo - Rastner Refuge

From San Vigilio, head towards the Puster Valley to Ellen, a small village above Montana in the municipality of San Lorenzo di Sebato. From the village center, follow marked trail no. 67 uphill on a wide, moderately steep mountain path through a sparse spruce forest. After about 30-40 minutes, you'll reach a first clearing with a splendid view of the Puster Valley. The forest road continues uphill with switchbacks until the landscape opens up into wide alpine meadows dotted with barns. After about an hour and a half, you'll reach the Rodengo Alp. Continue for another 20-30 minutes to reach the Rastner Hut, located in a panoramic position.
