It makes Zweibrücken the "City of Roses": the rose garden is a place to relax and slow down in the heart of the city. Europe's Rose Garden is a park covering over 50,000 m², in which more than 60,000 rose bushes of 2,000 different varieties are arranged. The park is one of the largest gardens in Europe and is the third largest rosarium in the world. The park was opened in 1914 by Princess Hildegard of Bavaria. Throughout the summer, visitors are presented with a wide variety of rose varieties in the varied scenery of the rose garden, which is dominated by ponds, shrubs and plants. The so-called Zweibrücken Rose Days begin on the third weekend in June, when the roses start to bloom. But the park is also worth a visit in early spring when the spring flowers bloom and from the beginning of April when the wild roses are in bloom. From May to September, the rose garden concert series takes place every Sunday afternoon.
