Schönach Valley

Start your adventure at Gasthof Oberwirt: cross the bridge, turn left - and the road leads directly to the entrance of the beautiful Schönach Valley. This is where your leisurely, gently ascending winter hiking trail begins.

At the Stinkmoosalm, a fantastic view of the end of the valley opens up - with the impressive Schönachkees glacier (3,000 m) as a shining highlight. After around an hour, you will reach the charming Lackenalm snack station at 1,400 m - perfect for a little refreshment or a warm break in the midst of the winter magic.

Information for families and winter fans:

Jörgleralm: closed on Saturdays

Lackenalm: not closed

Walking time: approx. 2 hours (there & back)

Recommendation: good winter shoes - the path can be slippery

Suitable for: Baby carriages - ideal for little explorers
