Shepherd weekend - Schäful - on the Belalp

On the second weekend in September, the well-known "Schäful" takes place on the Belalp.

The sheep that spent the summer on the Belalp go home again.

There is fine, traditional food and lots of music for you.

On this day, the Natisch people drive their sheep from the Aletschbord into the brick-built sheep enclosures, the so-called Färricha. During this sheep show, a canteen is also available during the "Schäful" on the Belalp and guests can end the day in a relaxed atmosphere with dancing in the evening.

On Shepherd's Sunday, visitors can enjoy a traditional meat soup with bread and cheese at the "Lüsga". At 10.00 a.m., a holy mass is held together with a yodeling association.
