Helpful facts

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road with a length of 48 km, 36 hairpin bends and a gradient of up to 12% is Europe's most famous panoramic road and leads through one of the most magnificent natural landscapes in the world to Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner.

Over 48 kilometers, the most famous Alpine road connects Salzburg and Carinthia. Whether you start from the Salzburg side, from Bruck in the Salzach Valley, or from Heiligenblut in the Carinthian Möll Valley, the crossing of the main Alpine ridge offers an impressive drive through all vegetation zones on both sides.
