With heart and respect - sustainability in harmony with nature

Sustainability is an important concern for us at Sonnberghof.

We would like to encourage you to think consciously about the origin and production of food and to make a small contribution to preserving nature and reducing factory farming and genetically modified food. We focus on species-appropriate animal husbandry and respectful treatment of our animals - a step towards a better and more sustainable future.

Our dairy cows enjoy species-appropriate husbandry and are fed without performance-enhancing feed. In spring and fall, they are allowed to graze on pasture, in summer on the alpine pasture. In winter, we feed them exclusively with high-quality hay from our herb-rich meadows. This husbandry ensures the best raw milk quality, from which we produce yoghurt, cream cheese and curd cheese. The Pinzgau cattle that we breed also contribute to this high quality - according to a study by the Technical University of Munich, it is considered the best beef in the world.

Good in organic

We promote organic farming and want you to be aware of the impact that your food production choices have on our environment. Organic products are not only tastier, but also healthier and more sustainable. With your purchase, you can actively contribute to changing agriculture by choosing products that are produced without genetic engineering and factory farming.

Good from the region

Thanks to our own organic farming and close cooperation with farmers from the Hohe Tauern National Park region in Salzburger Land, we can offer you fresh, regional products. We focus on short transportation routes and avoid middlemen, so that the added value remains in the region. This not only benefits the taste, but also the environment.

How you can support us

We attach great importance to the separation of waste and the correct handling of raw materials. In your room you will find a bin for recyclables such as paper, PET bottles, glass and cans. Please help us by disposing of these materials there. Everything else, such as cosmetic products or hygiene articles, belongs in the residual waste garbage can. Please do not throw them in the toilet.
