Way description:
The tour starts at the Sonneggbrücke parking lot and follows the forest path or a beautiful trail up to the Breitenebenalm. From there, it goes up to the Karseggalm, the oldest hut in Salzburger Land at 1,603m. Tip - be sure to stop for a bite to eat!
From the Karseggalm, the path leads a little steeper up to the Kitzstein 2,037m, or as the locals say, to the Gabel. Shortly before the summit, there is also some steeper terrain to conquer - good footwear is required.
The second half of the tour leads down from the summit to the Maurachalm and back to St. Johann to the Gernkogel. On the way back to Alpendorf, you will pass the reservoir and the Geisterberg. Here too, you can choose whether to take the gondola back down to the valley or return to the hotel on foot.
