The stove is the central heating system of the house,
which is normally only required in cold winter months
. It must always be operated correctly
. On the one hand, so that it does not suffer any damage
and on the other hand, so that the rooms are optimally
heated. Please also refer to the printed version of the instructions with the pictures. A maximum of two firings per day
may take place with an interval of at least 10 hours (ideally 12 hours).
No more than 25 kilos or
less than 12.5 kilos of wood may be fired in one firing.
Attention: the doors to the stove must always be
closed. In addition, please never
leave the house if the fire in the stove is still burning.
The following steps must be taken to heat the
stove:
1) Make sure that all levers on the stove on
both floors (upstairs in the dressing room)
are in the upright position (=stove flues open).
2) Fetch wood. The wood shed is outside
next to the main entrance. In a basket in the
dwelling you will find gloves and a kind of
cloth with a rope to help you load
and weigh the wood.
3) Once in the wood shed, load the
cloth with wood and hang it on the scale
above the door frame so you can see how
many kilos you have loaded. For a first
firing or cold stove, make sure
that you do not load more than 15 kilos. Take
also 4-8 small wood picks with you, which you will find on the
shelf on the wall in the wood shed.
4) Carry the wood into the home and
load it into the stove via the
large door to the sofa as shown in the illustration. Place
a wax igniter (also available in the basket
in the apartment) on top of the
wood bed and light it. It is
important that the wood burns from top to bottom
and not the other way around. This
ensures that the fire reaches its
optimal heat.
5) Now let the wood really catch fire
. If you are confident that the
fire will not go out, turn the
lever A 90 degrees to a horizontal
position. Now the hot smoke is no longer
directly fed into the chimney, but is
routed via
the heating labyrinth. Allow
the fire to burn down to red embers.
6) Once the last flame has gone out, turn
lever B (oxygen supply) to the
close position and both levers C by 45
degrees (diagonally). This ensures that
the now low-smoke heat escapes
from the stove and the stove walls are
heated optimally.
7) Once the embers have also disappeared (only
white ash remains), close all
levers on the stove (horizontal position). The
firing is complete.
Congratulations! You have successfully lit a fire and created lasting, soothing
warmth for you, your friends and family.
