Climbing - the new trend sport
Via ferratas are now the new trend in mountain sports and also let hikers, of course only with the appropriate equipment and depending on the level of difficulty, sniff into the realm of the vertical. These so-called "Via Ferratas" are paths secured with wire ropes and iron pins in the rocky area. The difficulty scale ranges from A (easy) to E (extremely difficult).
Via Ferrata Penken-Knorren
The Zillertal high ropes course is located at the romantic Zemm Gorge, built in the middle of the forest on natural trees. The forest ropes course was completely planned by mountain guides and built according to the latest European high ropes course standard. 32 exercises distributed over different levels of difficulty challenge self-confidence. The "via ferrata for everyone" on the Knorren also offers beginners the opportunity to get a taste of "climbing air". Nature Park via ferrata Nasenwand
A not very difficult, but rather exposed rock passage forms the beginning of this new via ferrata. Of the three via ferratas to the Zimmereben inn, this one is the longest with just under 700 meters of climbing and its approximately 300 meters of elevation gain.
Various very beautiful passages and partly vertical wall sections, which can be climbed through without any problems, as well as a good view of Mayrhofen and the Zimmereben via ferrata are the special features of this via ferrata. The difficulty levels range from walking phases to short D minus areas, but predominantly B and C can be assumed. The via ferrata Pfeilspitzwand is therefore a great addition to the existing two routes and in terms of difficulty is located about in the middle. From the exit you descend on a newly built hiking trail about 5 minutes to the inn Zimmereben.
Some facts about the via ferrata:
Target group: advanced
Difficulty: B-D
Walking time: 2 hours
Height difference: 245 m
Pitch length: 440 m
Access: From the material cable car from the Zimmereben inn about 100 m out of the valley, on the existing hiking trail to Schwendau is the new junction to the start of the via ferrata Pfeilspitzwand.
Via ferrata Huterlaner
Very beautiful, albeit demanding via ferrata, which is particularly characterized by its length and exposure. In the first, relatively seen easier part (C/D), it goes partly steeply upwards over several wall sections, a displacing dihedral, through the "Birkenwald'l" over a steep step with scales, an airy pillar and the "Floitentritte" to a large band, which marks the end of the first part. If you decide against the emergency exit on the left, the difficult second part awaits you. This offers, after an innocuous entry, a steep, very "arm-heavy" climb, the highlight of which is the overhanging key section "E", 2 three-rope bridges and a very exposed traverse.
Some facts about the via ferrata:
Target group: advanced and professional climbers
Difficulty: 1st part C/D - 2nd part D/E
Walking time: 2,5 to 3 hours
Height difference: 310 m
Pitch length: 600 m
Access: At the Gasthof Neu-Ginzling follow the path in the direction of Tristner (Ginzling's local mountain). At the fork in the path, continue straight ahead (5-10 minutes train ascent).
Via ferrata Zimmereben
Climbing route close to nature with family-friendly routing and excellent belays. Short, earthy walking sections alternate with steep ascents. At a rope bridge there is an exit but also an entry possibility. For families with children from 10 years an interesting change with adventurous ascent and some delicacies.
