Almost entirely immersed in a beautiful larch forest, the Pedemontana della Reit is the calling card of hiking in Bormio. The route runs along a mostly flat dirt road, interspersed only with short, sometimes steep climbs. The trail, with modest elevation gain, is suitable for everyone and is also walkable with a stroller.

The hike starts from the parking lot in Pravasivo, at kilometer 106 of the Stelvio state road.

Leaving the car, you take the dirt road uphill. After a few hundred meters the driveway becomes flat until a short descent leads to the Campello stream crossing. Here there is a detour to the "Rezia" Botanical Garden. Our route continues on the main road. About 300 meters after crossing the stream the road begins to climb. After a short steep section (detour to the Reit Cross) the climb becomes gentler until it becomes flat again. In a short time you thus reach thepicnic area of the "Planon dei Laresc" in which there is a small fountain. Resuming the walk, slightly uphill and still on the main dirt road, after a little less than a kilometer we reach a small Santella. From this point, without continuing to the steep descent, we follow the path back to the starting point.

The walk, well equipped with pleasant and scenic benches is passable all year round, even on days of light rain. On the route it is worth pausing to admire, in addition to the scenery, the numerous birds, squirrels, monumental larches in the area of the "detour to the Reit Cross," and the historic dry stone walls, true masterpieces of craftsmanship and good taste.
