Hotel Traube Post am Reschensee
The Panorama Höhenweg is an easy hike suitable for everyone, offering stunning panoramic views of the Ortler massif and across Lake Reschen and Lake Haider all the way to the Langtauferer Valley.
Getting there: The local bus departs from in front of the hotel every hour on the hour plus 44 minutes, heading toward the Schöneben valley station. From there, take the cable car to Schöneben, where the hike begins. For the descent, take the gondola to St. Valentin. The round-trip ticket is valid for both gondolas.
PANORAMA HÖHENWEG
250 meters elevation gain|6 kilometers|2.5–3 hours
From the mountain station in Schöneben, you ascend briefly across the ski slopes, then the trail leads 14 continues “across” the forest line to the Haideralm, a mountain hut that invites you to stop for a bite to eat. From there, take the gondola down to St. Valentin and walk back 5 minutes to the bus stop for the return trip to Graun. My tip: Allow at least 45 minutes from the alpine hut to the bus stop in the valley. Of course, you can also drive to the Schöneben or Haideralm valley station and walk back along the Panoramaweg; in this case, the tour takes twice as long as indicated above.
VARIANT – Zehnerkopf Summit
Summit hike to the Zehnerkopf (2,675 m). Shortly after Schöneben, turn right onto trail no. 9B toward the summit. From the Zehnerkopf, you can enjoy a unique panorama over all the lakes as far as Switzerland and the Ortler Group. Descend via the marked ascent trail.
